A close relative of the two Kumars, a young god-boy named Devdas loves Radha more than life. He does not understand her wealthy family and the unique circumstances of their relationship is forbidden by his father. Shortly after their arrival, Bimala is diagnosed with tuberculosis. When Kishore discovers that he cannot provide for Bimala due to his father's insistence of continuing to live with his family in the village, he decides to return home after Bimala has recovered. Meanwhile, Keshab makes friends with Devdas's younger brother Ashok. Ashok eventually falls in love with Paro, a widow who had once been engaged to Keshab's father Birju before she was widowed. The two fall in love but are unable to be together as Birju still lives in their village and prevents Paro from seeing Keshab as well as opposing her marriage with Ashok.
